About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples navigating the complexities of being human and in relationship with others- those who are feeling anxious, depressed, empty, lonely, losing purpose and meaning; those who are struggling with substance use, restricting, binging, purging, or obsessive thinking.
My Background and Approach
I practice in a psychodynamic and psychoanalytically informed way with a belief that it is through the therapy relationship that we can understand ourselves more fully and heal. I believe therapy is relational and invite patients to talk about the ordinary moments to the deeply personal ones. I aim to support my patients in embodying and understanding the parts of themselves they are not attending, acknowledging, or recognizing. I invite my patients to talk without censoring their thoughts, wishes, fantasies, and fears. Once we start talking, reflecting, and getting curious, we begin to understand ourselves more fully and realize our experiences are not formed in a vacuum. Our dreams have meaning. We can live in a more authentic and real way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, I practice in an anti-oppressive way and am attuned to the way society and its systems impact the way we see ourselves and show up in relationships, work, and life. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcome patients exploring sex, sexuality, and identity. I am a training candidate at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis; I have completed Gottman level 1 couples training and Emotionally focused therapy for couples.
