Dissociative symptoms often present alongside an experience of trauma or complex trauma. Even if it is difficult for you to label your experience as trauma, your body may still interpret the danger and remove you through your experience of dissociation. I treat these symptoms with compassion through the lens of IFS-based parts work, which lends safe connection to these parts that are otherwise misunderstood.
Anxiety is our way of telling us that we are out of control and we feel afraid. Deepening our understanding of the experience of anxiety often lessens its impact. Doing so can be scary and that is why I am here to partner with you in the process. I integrate EMDR with parts work to lessen anxiety's impact on your daily life and live more present in each day.
Being a product of sexual abuse or assault, your body has to adopt ways of coping that serve you in the moment, but outgrow their usefulness. Carrying this burden is a heavy one, but you are not alone. I will partner with you to deepen your understanding of how these parts are coping for you and shift their experience so that you live more integrated, in the moment, with those that you love.
I am passionate about working within the IFS framework because it incorporates mindfulness, narrative therapy, and internal attachment in an authentic and approachable way. I am an IFS Circle member and continue to learn more about the modality daily.
I am a trauma informed therapist and am passionate about healing the effects of trauma in our daily lives. I incorporate somatic approaches with mindfulness training and narrative therapy to arrive at a trauma informed therapy that is approachable, skills-based, and most importantly, based in healing.
I am Level one trained in EMDR and love the power that it gives to our bodies and brains to heal. I incorporate EMDR with parts work to heal trauma in a meaningful and lasting way. EMDR is also an effective tool to deal with depressive parts, anxious parts, and shut down parts.
