About My Clients
I enjoy partnering with clients on relationship issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, chronic illness, and general life stressors. I also identify as queer and enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community with adolescents, young adults, and middle adults, from all cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
Over the past eight years I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential, wilderness therapy, and public schools. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Constructed Awareness, and draw from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy as well. I have extensive experience working with people experiencing overwhelm (in all forms), addiction (substance, food, tech, gambling etc), and issues with relationship, transition, identity, & low esteem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It takes courage and vulnerability to pursue therapy. We each bring expertise into therapy - I bring the clinical expertise, and you bring the expertise in you. Therapy involves collaboratively using both sets of knowledge to address whatever issue is bringing you to therapy. I believe that we can build a validating environment without judgement to create a space that to invites self-exploration and openness. We will work together to build a unique plan to facilitate therapeutic acceptance, balance, and change in whatever form you are looking for.
