About My Clients

I enjoy working with young adult women who are navigating through life transitions and seeking to better understand their relationships with partners, friends, themselves, and the world. I particularly enjoy helping clients with anxious-avoidant and avoidant attachment styles find a sense of safety in relationships, gain freedom, and re-connect to themselves.

My Background and Approach

I have personal experience being in the client seat in therapy, so I understand how hard it can be to reach out and share your story with someone new. My number one priority is to create a safe and supportive space for you to express yourself fully: no judgement, no shame, every piece of you is worthy, and all parts of you are welcome here. I see my job as creating a space for you to show up as your wonderful, messy, complex, authentic self, where you can feel safe and supported to explore whatever your goals may be. No reason is too small to seek support. I have 5 years of experience working as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) with a variety of individuals and groups which led me to the field of clinical social work. My therapeutic style is informed by a variety of therapeutic modalities including: Polyvagal theory, Attachment theory, and parts work. I approach therapy from trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, relational, feminist, and systems lenses.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My approach to therapy is directly informed by who I am as a person, and my personal values. I am an enneagram 4, so it's no surprise that I deeply value authentic human connection and am committed to anti-oppressive work in every area of my life. I believe my most important qualification as a therapist is my commitment to doing my own work: independently, in relationship to others, and in therapy. I identify as a white, cisgender, bisexual woman. I am neurodivergent, live with PCOS, and am deeply passionate about disability justice issues. I am a native North Carolinian, raised in the christian church, and understand how deeply damaging this institution has been in the lives of many of us. I'm passionate about helping people find freedom from religious trauma and engage in spirituality on their own terms. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the public mental health sector as a Music Therapist, and in a small Emergency Department as a patient advocate.
