About My Clients

With my therapeutic lens, I see the best in my clients. I see their strengths and where they are working to improve. I do my best to understand where they are coming from and meet them where they are. So when we have sessions together, know that you are getting someone who is on your side. Even in family or couples sessions, no one is the bad guy. The problem is the bad guy. We work as a team. We are all allies in tackling this conflict that is making you feel disconnected and frustrated.

What I Specialize In

Relationships in all forms are what I specialize in. I've learned the tools needed to help others communicate that make everyone feel heard and understood by the end of the session. Does this mean you will all agree with each other? No, but you won't feel invalidated or like there was a miscommunication. I also specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults. Therefore, it's important to work with someone you don't have to fully educate about who you are all the time. Of course, everyone's identity is unique, so there may be some clarifying questions, but you won't need to educate me on the fact that there are more than 2 genders or how you are pansexual in our sessions. This means that in sessions, you can focus on the actual problems you are experiencing, such as not feeling accepted by your family, relationship issues with your partner, or the trauma of being misgendered repeatedly. You don't just get a therapist; you get someone who actively believes in you.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because I knew I wanted to help others from a young age and believed in the therapy process. I became dedicated to educating myself and finishing school as soon as I could to get to where I loved what I do. I've always wanted to do this, and I love learning the complexities of our brains and human experiences. I'm always seeking new knowledge and ways that I can improve for my clients. You will be getting someone passionate about the work they do when we talk. As for why I specialize in LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults with their families, it's because I am one of those young adults. I'm an asexual, panromantic person who is married to a wonderful nonbinary person. I've seen from first-hand experiences what can happen in families and relationships when others cannot communicate effectively and don't feel loved and accepted. I just wanted to do my part to help others, so maybe you don't have to go through the same difficulties.
