Dr. Rodriguez is a forensic mental health evaluator which allows her to serve as an evaluator and expert witness in both criminal and civil cases. She is known in the legal community for her ability to connect with people and for her willingness to take on challenging cases. Dr. Kate Rodriguez is a bilingual counselor who has helped hundreds of people dealing with immigration issues. She is seen in the professional community as an expert in the area of immigrant mental health and she has been asked to speak locally and nationwide on these topics. She has also worked closely with immigration attorneys to conduct hardship assessments for immigration waivers and U-Visa applications.

Dr. Rodriguez uses CBT when working with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, and many other issues. She studied CBT throughout her doctoral training and has used this therapy in her private practice because of its effectiveness with a variety of populations.

She believes that each person that walks into her office is unique and the whole person needs to be considered in therapy. With a humanistic view, there is an emphasis on a person's positive traits that will help them move forward. She believes that most people have the answers they are looking for but need a safe, judgement-free place to understand them. When Dr. Rodriguez was training for a motivational interviewing, she realized that she was already using many of these techniques with clients. She began conducting trainings for couples struggling with diabetes to help motivate one another. These techniques are often utilized to address issues that clients what to change such as physical health conditions, addictions, and anger. Motivational interviewing can help people commit to change in many areas of their lives.

My specialty is helping people overcome anxiety and depression associated with compassion fatigue. Though my therapy, I have been able to help people find balance in their lives so they can be more effective helpers without sacrificing their whole selves. I offer a judgement free zone to help people through some of the most difficult times they will ever experience.
