I believe that comprehensive therapy for suicidal ideation is so much more than writing down a safety plan on a piece of paper and calling it a day. It is my goal to meet my clients where they are in their journey, and help them find their own meaning and hope. I am certified through ASIST, the world's leading suicide prevention program, and use these techniques regularly in sessions where suicidality is a concern.
Like many therapists, I believe in holding a space for my clients that is unconditionally accepting as well as showing up in sessions with my authentic personality, beliefs, and reactions. It is this kind of authentic space that allows for genuine encounters that lead to positive change and growth.
The existential components of my therapeutic approach involve facilitating self-exploration of how each client understands the world around them and their place in it, allowing them to identify what it looks like to them to live meaningfully and intentionally.
The goal of CBT interventions is to identify the negative thought patterns and the underlying beliefs causing difficult emotional experiences such as anxiety or depression, replacing them with more adaptive and functional thoughts and coping skills.
I feel so honored when I am able to sit with clients as they work through their darkest and most challenging moments in life. I use a cognitive approach to trauma therapy, holding a space for you to safely reexamine your past, shedding light on any ways it may still be impacting you and finding ways to cope and heal.
As a person who has been in therapy for anxiety myself, I will never ask you to try something that I haven't tried before myself. I find anxiety to be a common theme among many of my clients, and feel I can effectively provide a therapeutic space for you to reduce your anxiety and start feeling better.
