About My Clients
The relationships we create with others are not linear, nor are they stagnant; relationships are continually changing and transforming. These relationships play a major role in our journey through life. We define ourselves by our relationships (parent, child, sibling, partner), impacting our mental and emotional health. I believe communication is at the heart of every relationship; therapy helps provide tools for better communication.
My Background and Approach
I have been trained in systemic and trauma-informed perspectives and modalities from Syracuse University's Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy program. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in the areas such as depression, family/marital conflict, grief, trauma, and anxiety. I view therapy as a collaborative process, rooted in empathy and guided by the desire for positive change. I am grateful for this opportunity to work with you and your family.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
There is a universal human need for us to be heard and for our pain to be validated. Often, we carry around trauma that becomes buried deep within, revealing itself through unexplainable emotions, thoughts, and actions. It is not weak to ask for guidance in exploring your inner workings, it is part of what makes us human. Therapy provides a safe, compassionate environment for people to discover themselves and their inner strengths. Therapy is challenging, often requiring us to be vulnerable and honest with ourselves, other people, and our therapist.
