My Education: B.S., Psychology, Virginia Commonwealth University, 2006 M.Ed., Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling, The College of William & Mary, 2009 Ph.D., Counselor Education and Supervision, The College of William & Mary, 2012
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all clients have the capacity to change and heal. Our minds and bodies are powerful tools that we often underestimate. I believe that bringing ourselves back to our bodies, truly feeling our bodily sensations, speaking our truths, and being willing to show up however and whoever we are can bring about change that is different from traditional talk therapy. I have walked the path of talk therapy and somatic therapy as a client. Through my own therapy, I have been able to learn how to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD by exploring patterns in my life, connecting with and trusting my body, and observing my thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the here-and-now. This journey has helped me to become the counselor that I am. I am delighted to offer a path of support, change, and healing to my clients.
