About My Clients

Every person who comes to me for support will be welcomed, respected and their stories heard. It is important to me that all individuals are invited into the therapeutic process regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, culture or religion. Together, we can explore ways of traveling in this world that are more helpful and healing. My areas of practice include grief and loss support, anxiety, difficulties with life decisions, sadness, depression and personal hardships.

My Background and Approach

As a Narrative Therapist, I honor the healing power of conversation. I understand that listening well, with compassion and an open heart, is key to helping people in their struggles. Through rich therapeutic questioning that is the cornerstone of narrative practice, I offer people the space to talk, to dialogue about what they are experiencing emotionally, physically, spiritually or mentally, and for their life histories to be validated. Since the spoken word is ephemeral, I write a therapeutic letter to the people who see me as a way to rescue important words and phrases used by them in therapy. This letter is crafted after each session of therapy. I recognize that there are many stories to a person’s life that powerfully shape their experiences and that individuals possess many skills and knowledges to deal the problems in their lives. My approach is innovative and creative and it encourages people to tell their stories in ways that make them stronger.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I BELIEVE THAT WHEN PEOPLE ARE SUPPORTED BY SOMEONE WHO GENUINELY BEARS WITNESS TO THEIR EMOTIONAL HARDSHIP, HEALING CAN TRULY BEGIN. My passion is for helping people navigate the emotionally tumultuous seas that life events can cast them in. As a hospice volunteer, a grief facilitator for children and adults, a volunteer for a local women's shelter and a personal therapist, I have shared space with bereaved individuals as well as with those who are experiencing an overwhelming problem in their lives. I consider it an honor and a privilege to companion people through life’s struggles. Life is not always easy and it helps to have the comforting presence of someone who listens and truly cares.
