About My Clients
My specialization is working with Gay Men, BIPOC and the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you're struggling with intense emotions, like depression or anxiety, self acceptance, reoccurring conflict in relationships or seeking to find some direction and purpose. I also work with High Functioning Professionals and Achievers trying to manage the fast pace of life, as “adulting” is much tougher than anyone anticipates, and you may be feeling a lack of balance in your life.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is collaborative, establishing a therapeutic relationship founded on trust and authenticity. A relationship-focused on understanding you, your world, and your experiences. As a counselor, I use principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy, while being informed through a multicultural lens to best fit my clients. I have extensive training working with the LGBTQ+ population. Being a part of this marginalized community gives me a unique passion as a therapist and a deep love for supporting this population with coming out, managing relationships, and growing in self-acceptance. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including community health agencies, psychiatric hospitals, non-profits, and college counseling centers. As an adjunct professor, I enjoy teaching counseling students the fundamentals of counseling and providing training in basic techniques to the more advanced skills for professional development.
