I wish that people knew therapy is not "one-size-fits-all". Therapy can have different meanings for many different people. There is no "right" way to do therapy, because the process is whatever the client needs it to be. If that means sitting together listening to a client's favorite song on repeat for 50 minutes, so be it! I believe that everyone can always learn something new. Maybe that might mean a different coping skill to have in their toolbox, a new perspective to consider, or just simply 50 minutes of uninterrupted time to process whatever they need to. Life is hard, messy, unfair, and demanding... therapy can help.

I use humor (when appropriate of course) in my work, because I believe therapy doesn't always have to be serious! I'm not afraid to dig deep with my clients, to get to the root of things, to understand their WHY. Something else I want my clients to know about me is, I'm registered Dance/Movement therapist... which means I'm a mover! I will encourage my clients to try things with me to move their bodies, get curious about sensations that arise, and be willing to challenge themselves in the process. I sought therapy when I was in middle school and one day I walked out of my therapists office and told my mom "I want to do what she does someday". Clearly, from a very young age the idea of being a therapist had already been instilled in me. I enjoy this work because I love to feel connected to other people.
