About My Clients

I specialize in psychodynamic and humanistic therapies - forms of therapy that see the whole person, not just a label or a symptom. I specialize in psychological testing/assessment of adolescents and adults. I work with many autistic and attention challenged individuals from a Neurodiversity perspective. This sees neurological differences as valid and valuable, and maximizes potential without shaming difference. Sex positive, LGBTQ affirming, and disability friendly.

My Background and Approach

I grew up in Southern California. I developed an early interest in psychology, strangely enough, from a childhood filled with science fiction stories. These stories often provided fascinating looks into human psychology and the human spirit. I attended UCLA as an undergrad where I conducted research in the field of neurolinguistics. From there, I attended Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf School of Clinical Psychology for his Master’s and Doctorate degree. I have worked in various settings including colleges, clinics, a federal prison, and residential treatment centers. Through my experience with a vast array of individuals I have stuck with one important lesson among many; as the psychoanalyst Harry Stack Sullivan said, “We are all more human than otherwise.”

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The beliefs stem from two main ideas: all humans are valuable, and no one should have to live a life alone and ashamed. I truly believe that there are infinite ways to acheive happiness and meaning, and all of these have the commonality of being rooted in authenticity and understanding of oneself within their interpersonal and societal context. This fiercly humanistic approach allows me to sit with, validate, and connect with poeple others tend to judge or dismiss. This includes neurodivergent, queer people, people of color, sex workers, non-monogamous people, etc.
