About My Clients
I work with children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, and general life transitions. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have a special interest and experience working with queer folx of all ages. Additionally, I am extremely passionate about working with people who struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I find great pride in watching my clients learn how to effectively cope with life’s uncertainties and challenges.
My Background and Approach
I utilize many different modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and narrative therapy. I believe in the power of intentional choice and values-based action, and thus, I often utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when working with my clients. ACT is rooted in behavioral therapy but incorporates elements of acceptance and mindfulness. I aim to help my clients learn how to be less reactive and more intentional in their choices so they can begin to behave in ways that are aligned with their values and goals. Additionally, I incorporate the evidenced-based treatment, Exposure and Response Prevention(EX/PR), when working with clients who struggle with OCD. This is a challenging, yet highly effective approach to help significantly decrease frequency and severity of OCD symptoms.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all a product of our experiences, and thus, deserve deep empathy and compassion, regardless of our perceived pitfalls. It is only human to feel there are parts of our past of which we are not proud. However, I believe our past does not need to dictate our future. I am committed to help people learn how to turn off auto-pilot and begin living more intention lives.
