About My Clients
Is anxiety, self-doubt or work stress keeping you awake at night? Are you having trouble focusing on important tasks during the day because you are constantly worrying? Anxious thoughts can be like bullies pushing you around and preventing you from being present and enjoying life. Often the clients I work with feel overwhelmed by stress, worries, and the daily pressures of life and want to find ways to be more present in their lives.
My Background and Approach
Clients consistently tell me how free they feel when they are no longer carrying the guilt, anxiety, and self-blame that has weighed them down for years. As much as that feels impossible right now, I’m here to tell you that hope and recovery are within reach. My hope for clients is that they are able to expand their world and regain a sense of power and control in their lives. I apply scientifically-based techniques to help people take steps towards the things that are most important to them. One of the most rewarding parts of therapy is helping people to reach their goals and see tangible, concrete changes in their life and relationships. It is not uncommon for colleagues and clients of mine to joke about my hopeful outlook, sense of humor, encouraging demeanor and ability to both sit with individuals in their pain while also helping them to see a path forward. My style is often described as calm, compassionate, and genuine in providing specific feedback.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Anxiety and stress show up differently for all of us. Whether it’s frequent worries about the future, avoiding situations for fear of what could happen, or physical feelings of tension and restlessness, learning how to manage the thoughts and emotions behind anxiety can help an individual reduce their symptoms. With therapy, you will learn new skills and strategies to reduce the overwhelming thoughts and emotions holding you back from enjoying life. I specialize in several types of therapy approaches for treating anxiety, stress, and trauma. These approaches will help you to understand your triggers and how to change your reactions to them. Since all people are different, therapy is tailored specifically to you and what you are experiencing. I truly believe therapy can give you the tools and strategies to help re-establish feelings of safety, self-esteem, identify triggers and develop healthy coping skills.
