About My Clients

Are you feeling down, unable to go through life's challenges alone? Were you recently in a traumatic event, or are you experiencing anxiety that feels too heavy to hold alone? Anxiety, depression, life stressors, and trauma can be overwhelming and exhausting. I understand what it's like to feel alone and as if there is no where else to turn. Life can throw us curveballs, but I'm here to support you, give you tools, and walk alongside you in your healing journey.

My Background and Approach

I have a Master of Arts in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with teenagers, children, adults, and families in mental health agencies and in the school system. I approach therapy by allowing the client to lead and tell me what they need by primarily using narrative therapy. Narrative therapy is about story telling and rewriting your story to help you reclaim your identity and strength. Together, we can work to rewrite your story. Part of narrative therapy is also using a strengths-based approach. Together we can figure out what tools you already have and explore what else will work best for you. In addition to narrative therapy I'm also trauma-informed and use that in practice as well. Therapy is collaborative, so we will work together to set up goals and work towards them to strive for your ideal life. I only provide therapy to folks who reside in the state of Oregon.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have been through therapy myself and found it beneficial for the stressors I was facing. Although, I believe that therapy can benefit everyone no matter what you're going through. I believe that talking to someone and sitting in a safe and brave space to be seen and heard, are important and can be beneficial towards the healing process and with everyday life stressors. I also understand that mental health is intersectional and I incorporate that into my practice as well. As a woman of color, I understand firsthand how intersectionality can impact mental health. As a therapist, I utilize an intersectionality approach into my practice to use holistic techniques toward healing. I believe that therapy isn't just beneficial for your mental health, but your health as a whole.
