About My Clients
The individuals and couples I see are usually creative folks from a multitude of cultural backgrounds. I welcome all genders, races, sexual orientations, and/or relationship styles. Most are looking for greater self-actualization, and many struggle with anxiety, quality of relationships, intimacy, depression, history of trauma, familial conflict, creativity, life transitions, and career issues. I also enjoy working with parent/child dyads, siblings, even friends who seek help in relationship.
My Background and Approach
I come from a creative background myself and have sought out education about the human psyche and the arts for most of my adult life. I enjoy listening to people and, together, finding deeper understanding for their experiences. Our society doesn't usually teach parents or young people how to be with their emotions, how to understand their patterns, nor how to stay curious in the face of "negative feelings." I create a comfortable and safe environment for people to begin exploring their internal worlds. As time goes on, and the therapeutic relationship deepens, people are often able to grow their level of tolerance to look at parts of themselves they don't like, parts that have been difficult or painful to see in the past. Simultaneously, they discover what lights them up and what experiences bring them great joy. This balance helps people feel more fulfillment from life, more knowingness about what they want ,and where they are heading. It also helps them see what's in their way.
