You can believe you belong in this world, that you are not a waste of space. There is a way out of this storm you're in.
My Background and Approach
I've been told I see things, explain things, and generally think about things a little differently than others do. In practice, I've found that this helps me help people who have struggled through therapy in the past and feel like they've hit a wall. It also has aided me in being able to untangle some complex overlap in issues with my clients, meaning that instead of going to several different specialists, we can shift focus between the co-occuring issues as needed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My philosophy: You are worthy. You aren't alone. You can have an amazing, fulfilling, and connected life. There is nothing you have done, felt, or experienced that can diminish your infinite worth as a human being. Unhealthy behaviors do not define you. Your past does not define you. I see things through a systems perspective, meaning I view the world as being tightly interwoven. Domestic violence, sexual assault, addiction, personal trauma, community trauma, systemic racism, mental health and addiction stigmas - the more intersections of these considerations, the more alone we can feel. However, navigating around, through, and beyond these individual issues to connect with you you choose to be - that's where your life can truly begin.
