About My Clients
As a queer, femme Corean child of immigrants, I hope to provide a healing space for children, teens, QTIBIPOC, and nonmonogamous folks to feel seen and heard. I work with people to claim internal power, and to take charge of your own story. I have a special passion working with children, teens and their families as they navigate the unpredictable terrain of school, relationships, and identity development.
My Background and Approach
I utilize cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical (DBT) & trauma-informed approaches, with a focus on mindfulness, holistic healing and play. I also use Brainspotting, a somatic intervention that can help your body process and release remnants of pain that may surface as emotional overwhelm, numbness, low self esteem, body pain, or reduced task performance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see my mental health work as a liberatory practice to decolonize healing and deconstruct systems of power. I will support you in uncovering creative strategies to break old patterns that are no longer useful. I can help you build a life of inner peace and emotional abundance, and hold space for you in your journey of embracing your authentic self. I find immense purpose and meaning as a therapist because I resonate with the practice of partnering with people to tap into their inner super powers to nurture a sense of joy, respite, and connection even while living under multiple systems of oppression. I have the privilege to witness firsthand how our communities will not be denied our dignity and our right to thrive. I hope to support you in your journey to identify self-defeating narratives that no longer serve a purpose, and facilitate the creation of a more nuanced story in which you can gain an increased sense of power and control in your life.
