Most of the trauma work I do is centered around complex trauma, with focus in sexual assault and sexual abuse for adults and minors. In addition to being a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for individuals (CCTS-I), I have also attended a training with the Tempe Police Department on the Forensic Experiential Trauma Interview (FETI). I have experience coordinating with police detectives and Department of Child Services for past and ongoing investigations.

I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for individuals (CCTS-I) through the Arizona Trauma Institute and regularly engage in additional trainings and coursework on trauma-informed care and holistic approaches. Familiar with Somatic Experiencing (SE)and Polyvagal Theory, I have coordinated care with SE practitioners and/or supported patients in exploring other body approaches (trauma-informed yoga) into their care plan.

I completed a training provided by Phoenix Children's Hospital in conjunction with Mercy Care on treating gender diverse and gender expansive youth. In addition to this specialized training, I regularly review coursework on gender identity and have provided trainings for colleagues on this topic. I use the WPATH Standards of Care and practice from an informed-consent model. In many cases, I have coordinated care with medical providers for HRT and other medical transitions.

I practice from a trauma-informed lens and have completed training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist for individuals (CCTS-I) through the Arizona Trauma Institute/Trauma Institute International. Within this approach, I focus on the therapeutic relationship, relaxation/regulation, narrative/exposure, and cognitive reframing with use of psycho-education and meaning-making.

I practice from an attachment theory focus by incorporating elements of the Adult Attachment Interview into my initial assessment and through case conceptualization across domains of dependency, conflict, communication, anger, roles, and boundaries. Within this framework, I often use elements of interpersonal process approach (IPP) and emotion-focused therapy (EFT) to support patients experientially learn in the therapy relationship and within their natural support systems.
