About My Clients

I help overfunctioners live a more balanced life. In other words, if you struggle with perfectionism and overachieving to the point of stress, exhaustion, anxiety, or depression, you will learn to set boundaries, ask for help, use self-care, and build confidence. I also work with teens as they prepare for/adjust to college and help people manage tough emotions, life transitions, and stressors; overcome self-criticism; and learn when/how to say ‘no’ so that you can start saying ‘yes’ to yourself!

My Background and Approach

I have experience conducting a wide range of psychological assessments and psychotherapy services across various mental health settings (i.e., a residential treatment facility, college counseling centers, private practices, and an outpatient community mental health center). I have worked with children as young as 2, adolescents, adults, groups, and families. Through all of this, I discovered my true passion for therapy, particularly with adolescents or adults and those who have experienced some type of trauma in their past. A lot of us don't even realize we've been through a trauma (and yes, that can include a toxic work environment or past relationship, including within our families!) until a stressful situation down the line stirs up some emotions or struggles we don't understand. As I mentioned above, this may appear in the form of anxiety or perfectionism, sometimes to the point of OCD-like symptoms.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I understand how scary it can be to seek therapy and work through some of your most difficult emotions or experiences. To try to help ease the pain or discomfort of vulnerability, I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment. I also value authenticity and connection within the therapeutic relationship. Because you are unique, I believe your therapeutic process should also be unique. I will work with you to meet your own individual needs and goals. Through our work, I will help you regain a sense of safety, stability, and growth, and learn to see the strength and bravery in vulnerability and the authenticity in imperfection! I also provide group therapy services, which can be especially helpful in addressing social anxiety or relationship concerns, depression, trauma, and more. During the coronavirus pandemic, my groups are continuing via video! Don't worry, it's much less awkward/uncomfortable and much more rewarding and helpful than you'd imagine!
