I am a licensed psychotherapist whose practice involves creativity and collaboration within a relational therapeutic frame.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pasadena, CA
For 6 years, I was employed by the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, as a member of the Center for Transyouth Health and Development mental health team, and also in the HIV program. My role focused on providing affirming care for young transfeminine POC, as well as non-binary folks. I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). My practice is trans-affirming, queer-affirming, and sex-positive.
In 2011, I completed a year-long certificate program in Psychodynamic Therapy at the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute. I have continued to enhance my practice with continuing education that centers psychoanalytic principles.
Most of my clients have experienced anxiety and/or depression at some point. I have found that an insight-oriented approach can provide lasting relief for people who are having these symptoms.
At Children's Hospital Los Angeles, I was a member of the Motivational Interviewing trainers group, tasked with providing one-on-one coaching for staff, as well as team presentations to the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, as part of an initiative to incorporate MI throughout programs.
Transgender, non-binary, intersex, and gender-expansive people are welcome in my practice, as are lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, and questioning folks. I also enjoy working with people who are living with HIV, and people who experience depression and anxiety related to transphobia, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination. My practice is trans-affirming, queer-affirming, and sex-positive.
