About My Clients

You are trying to hold it all together, but just can’t take it anymore. You’ve hit your breaking point and don’t know what to do. Self-doubt, over-thinking everything, questioning what will make you happy. Other people don’t get it. Something needs to change, but you don’t know what, and you need help. If nothing changes, nothing changes. Therapy can help.

My Background and Approach

I will help you identify what you’re feeling (and why), and we will collaborate to develop solutions for quick relief and long term change. I give authentic empathy, and I will have the confidence in you that you don’t have in yourself, to find the solutions that will change your life. You need to know it’s OKAY to feel how you’re feeling, that you’re NOT crazy, and that it WILL get better. After your first session, you will walk away with a game plan for some of the more immediate problems you’re facing. Over time, you’ll develop clarity and will make choices based on what’s best for you and your family, rather than other people’s expectations. You will know you are not tied down, doomed, or stuck forever and you will always be able to reassess, grow, and make changes as life goes on. You will take care of yourself physically and emotionally, with strong boundaries on your time and energy. I have been using telehealth exclusively for two years, using a HIPAA secure video platform.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all need a little help sometimes. I'm passionate about ending the stigma around mental health. It's unbelievable that people still think that if you see a therapist, you must be crazy. I literally say "No, you're not crazy" about once a week to clients. It's important to me that if you're struggling, you can get help. Or if you're just looking to grow, make improvements in your life, or work on a specific goal, therapy is a normal and accepted option for all of us. It's also important to me that your therapy experience is warm, accepting, and supportive. It hurts my heart when I hear that a client has had a negative experience in therapy because of their identity (LGBT, race, ethnicity, etc). That is unacceptable, and I really love giving clients a restorative therapy experience. I'm also a STAR Behavioral Health Provider with special training in active duty military and veteran clients and family members. I work privately or with the VA Community Care program.
