About My Clients
Have you been blaming yourself for the actions, behaviors or even the emotions of other people around you? You may be feeling like everything is your fault, like you are just not good enough. You feel as though your worth is only based on how you perform in school or at work, the way you look, or how much you do for others rather than WHO you are? Maybe thinking that if you’re perfect everything will be OK?
My Background and Approach
I received my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Rush University specializing in Psychiatry. I have experience at all levels of care: inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient psychiatry. My passion is working with individual and groups coping with eating disorders, substance use disorders, process addictions, trauma and co-occurring mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety, or bipolar.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I provide medication management as well as psychotherapy, yet, I do not believe there is a magic pill that will make the suffering go away. I believe medication may or may not be part of the solution. I feel strongly about personalizing the care to fit each person’s individual needs. I believe psychiatric medication has the potential to help get us to a place where we are able to do the deeper healing.
