Spiritual abuse can take a negative toll on how one views themselves and the world, leading to unhealthy overall wellness. Spiritual abuse can often go unrecognized, but can sometimes result in symptoms of scrupulosity-like obsessions, excessive guilt, and sexual shame. I help you to develop healthier patterns of belief within your cultural context and personal goals.

Body image concerns are common. I know and believe your body deserves to take up space at every size and shape. I work with clients looking at the connection between the mind and body to develop a healthier body image and tools to navigate societal ideals. I am an advocate for body autonomy, body positivity & neutrality, and Health at Every Size—HAES®.

Many people experience symptoms related to painful traumatic experiences. Some of these can consist of anxiety, shame, fear, hopelessness, dissociation, and more. I recognize that safety is an essential part of recovery from trauma, and as such will provide a safe, non-judgmental environment. I am a trauma informed clinician and can help you develop tools to guide you through healing.

I am a trauma informed clinician. I recognize that trauma is an emotional response that is often stored in our bodies, meaning the body can react without us cognitively understanding why we are reacting or responding negatively. I can help you process your experiences, recognize how trauma may be impacting your life today, develop coping strategies, reclaim (or build) autonomy & self-confidence, develop/ strengthen your sense of self, and find safety in who you are.

My foundational approach to therapy is person-centered. I believe that nothing works in therapy if the client-therapist do not jive well together. Rapport with your therapist is essential, as well as safety and a non-judgmental listening ear. I believe you know yourself far better than I do. My goal is to help enhance your strengths and guide you in your healing.

There is no one-way to therapy, and as such, I integrate different theoretical approaches depending on your needs. Foundationally, I approach therapy from a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma informed place, and from there add other modalities.
