Hi! I'm Jen. I'm hoping to work with individuals and couples to build a sense of happiness and gratification in their lives.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in ,
My aim is not to keep you in therapy forever but to help you recognize, understand, and build solutions for what is getting in your way of having the kind of life you want.
I have a wide area of therapeutic modality interests that I've explored and trained in over the years. I believe most people often benefit from a combination of approaches versus a single modality. My hope is to work with you to develop an understanding of yourself and what things you can do in your life to build the type of life you want for yourself.
Sometimes folks are clinically depressed or anxious and other times they are going their a period of heightened stress and anxiety that they need help coping with. Therapy is a great support for people who find themselves reacting/responding differently in everyday situations than they did before. Sometimes what you need is someone to help you with strategies and tools to mitigate the stress and anxiety that you're feeling. The Covid pandemic has been especially difficult and I'd like to help.
I recently broadened my practice to include ethical non-monogamy. I've attended training to specifically educate myself on issues, terms, and a general understanding of dynamics. My aim is to help individuals explore if a non-monogamous relationship structure is one they want to enter into or navigate one they are in, and to assist couples grappling with opening their relationship.
I identify as Queer within the LGBTQ community & a driving force of becoming a therapist was about helping others within the community. If you find yourself in need of support while coming out, exploring your sexual or gender identity, navigating relationships (romantic or otherwise), struggling with shifts in your sexuality over time, acceptance, internalized homophobia, or any aspect of being in the LGBTQ community I'd like to help you.
