About My Clients
My clients are adults who tend to care deeply about those around them. This could be their friends, family, children, or coworkers. Although there is beauty in caring and taking care of others, my clients tend to find themselves struggling and sometimes uncomfortable with reaching out to their support network when they need help. Their distress can show up through anxiety and stress. I have special training to help support pregnant and new parents through the transition into parenthood.
My Background and Approach
When many of client's first walk through my door, they don't know what to expect from counseling. I love seeing the relief on their faces when they realize they've found a place where they can freely express themselves even about the hard stuff, where they can learn some skills to manage life when it gets difficult, and feel understood even when those closest to them don't seem to get it. Counseling is awesome because you get to talk to someone who is not part of your life and doesn't have an agenda. Let's work together to find some relief! I am an EMDR certified therapist and find the modality very powerful. I use EMDR to help clients with difficult past experiences, trauma, and more. I'm also certified in perinatal mental health. I tend to focus on working with new parents around anxiety or birth trauma using EMDR.
