About My Clients

I see clients from 12 to 99+. I feel I do my best work with helping clients learn to accept and develop compassion for themselves - whether it be related to neurodiversity (autistic or ADHD neurology) or related to their identity, sexuality, gender, disability or acceptance of their bodies. I enjoy seeing clients blossom and experience better mental health outcomes in their growth.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with my master's from Midwestern State in 2020. I also have a bachelors in Sociology and a certificate in Substance Abuse Studies. I aspire to continue my education and get a doctorate in counselor education in the near future. I'm a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and an Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Kacey Vasquez, LPC-S. I'm a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, a neurodivergent person, and live my life in a larger body. I've been on my own mental health journey for many years and will likely utilize my own therapist and supervision for the duration of my career - thus far I have found it to be an amazing way to grow in my personal and professional life. I have experience with mandated substance use probation and CPS clients, parenting counseling, LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults, religious trauma, disability, and mood disorders. I have spent the last 2 years in an IOP and serving an economically disadvantaged population.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that finding compassion for oneself and developing acceptance for one's humanity are key practices for developing a balanced life. Through my own therapy, I learned the hold shame and perfectionism had on my life and I was able to expose my darkest parts in a safe place. I also learned to accept my own dualities and my humanity. My own therapy experience was life-altering and it is a joy and a privilege to offer that to others. I am a proud bisexual woman and love creating content on social media to empower others living life outside of the binary to find validation and hope in themselves and their communities. If you are looking for a counselor who is open, gentle, and utilizes humor and joy, it sounds like we could be a good fit! Call and ask to set up an initial appointment with me.
