About My Clients

I have strived to bring psychological tools to those who serve our nation, our communities, and first-responders. I have served diverse clientele. Specialty populations that I have enjoyed working with are youth and very young children, youth with severe psychobehavioral issues, anaclesis psychiatric patients, juvenile delinquents, and adults with comorbid mental health disturbances.

My Background and Approach

The first year of my work in psychology, I worked with nearly 1,000 patients/clients. I worked within an anaclesis psychiatric acute care hospital. I facilitated group therapy at the end of the day. I have worked with retired military and active military members side by side. In my internships, I developed a brain-training specialty program to assist clients to do neurofeedback/biofeedback at-distance q.a.d, and in the clinic QWK. My specialties include Motivational Interviewing (specifically if requested) to assist the patient to understand the need and necessity for change (whether medical or otherwise). I specialize in providing treatments that include talk-therapy integrated with the patient's vital signs... by measuring the client's baseline B/A each intervention. I can provide neurofeedback programs and brain-training programs for those that may benefit, improving sleep, impulse-control, attention, and synchronizing/increasing functional connectivity. I can offer CPT for PTSD.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The first thing that I do when I meet someone is assure that they are validated, that they know that I am trying to understand their experience(s). I spend my time facilitating therapy in a person-centered phenomenological approach. Many patients that I have met feel unheard, and this in itself solves one of the patient's underlying issues. In medicine, we must see the patient first, and we must hear from a "not-knowing" stance. Some clients need more direction than person-centered therapy, I then depend on education through narrative therapy and CBT/DBT.
