About My Clients
Do you notice yourself scrolling through your phone, binge watching TV, always on the go, or shutting down completely? “I’m fine,” you say, “just tired”. For my clients, they realized that they were, in fact, not fine. They decided this was not the most joyful, fulfilled life that they could imagine for themselves. It was actually filled with anxiety, numbing, and a sense of deep self doubt. If this sounds like you and you are open to exploring another way, this is the place for you.
My Background and Approach
My approach isn’t all about adding coping skills to a tool box. It’s not a one stop shop for “quick fixes”. It is about getting to the root causes of patterns and cycles. It is fostering curiosity and self compassion that will allow you to see how your behaviors and thoughts have served you in the past and why or why not they may no longer be serving you. It is ultimately about connection, to yourself and to others. I use my training gained from my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and BA in Psychology, and my previous experience with clients (from teens to older adults) to create an environment centered on you, the individual (or family). Using a collaborative, holistic strengths-based style, I incorporate mindfulness-based techniques, parts of self and somatic work, and rely on the importance of systems and attachment perspectives. I believe trauma is stored in the body and self doubt is stored in the mind so I come to therapy from both a bottom up and a top down approach.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
YOU have the right to a joyful fulfilled life and therapy can be the place for you figure out what is getting in your way. It can be a place to explore parts of yourself that you are afraid to look at and a space to reflect on what matters most. Together, we will work to understand YOUR feelings and emotions from YOUR worldview. We may have similar stories or very different ones but I am here to listen, to understand and to help you live in line with YOUR values.
