About My Clients
We enjoy working most with clients who are open to understanding how past adverse life experiences negatively impact thoughts, feelings, and behaviors today and are ready to do the work of exploring these connections and healing in therapy.
My Background and Approach
We strive to build a relationship with our clients based on the foundations of curiosity and empathy in a collaborative setting that is goal-oriented, but also makes them feel relaxed and at ease, where their true self can be seen and feel accepted. Our overarching hope for clients is that through therapy they would understand and believe they have inherent worth and value as human beings, apart from what they do, what they have, or what other people think and say about them. Our clinical perspective is trauma informed, meaning that adverse life experiences shape who we are today and the beliefs we carry around about ourselves, others, and the world. When unaddressed, we often find ourselves stuck.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We operate under the belief that every person has a hard-wired core desire to be seen and heard, accepted and loved for who they are. Much of the dysfunction and dis-ease we experience in life is a result of this need not being met. The most important and helpful aspect of a therapeutic relationship is not the techniques or methods used, but for the client to know the have someone supporting them while doing the deep and meaningful work of therapy.
