This approach is by far my favorite! We can't always change or stop our thoughts from occurring, but we can relate to them differently and continue working towards our goals.

While anxiety is a normal human emotion, sometimes our mind tries to protect us from perceived danger by going into overdrive, producing anxiety. I can help you develop a different relationship with your mind and it's anxiety-producing thoughts.

Thoughts of suicide are actually more common than you might think. Sometimes, our mind doesn't know what else to do, so it tries to problem-solve by thinking about death or dying. I create a space in which it is ok to talk about these thoughts without being judged.

Women face specific issues that need to be recognized and discussed. As we grow up in this society, we face discrimination, inequalities and fear. Fear of our surroundings, fear of being judged, fear of not making the "right" decisions, to marry, to have children, to work, etc. Whether you were assigned female at birth or are a transgender woman, you are welcome here and your thoughts are valid.

This theory is the basis for many other theories in counseling. I use it to explain how our beliefs and life experiences affect the way we think, feel and act. Sometimes we re-learn other ways of seeing the world, and ourselves.
