Being a woman can be intensely frustrating and confusing. People tell you when, how, and even if you should have a family. You work twice as hard to get half as far. Your body is a topic of legislation. The way you present your woman-ness, the size of your body, the clothes you wear, your sexuality, the way you speak- is under constant critique. There are so many "rules" for how to live and they're all in conflict and changing constantly. Let's talk about how YOU want to live your life!

Sexual problems can be particularly frustrating and difficult to talk about. The vast majority of humans do it, the vast majority of those have had questions or some issue with sex at least once. But for some reason we aren't allowed to talk about it? Why be in pain and not allowed to tell anyone? Why distance yourself from your partners for fear they will judge you? Feminist therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that focuses on gender and the particular challenges and stressors that women face as a result of bias, stereotyping, oppression, discrimination, and other factors that threaten their mental health. The focus of treatment is on empowerment, identity, and understanding of social factors that contribute to distress.

ACT is a form of mindfulness-based therapy that focuses on concrete steps to assist you in accepting and working with the normal difficulties of life. Specifically, we will look at traits and behaviors that stop keep you stuck in negative thought patterns and will work to reduce avoidant and unhelpful coping strategies.

Psychodynamic therapy is a talk therapy that focuses on you relationship to your external and internal world. Focus is generally on what experiences led you to where you are and how those have contributed to your current distress. This type of therapy is especially well suited to helping people learn how to build better relationships and creating meaning in their lives.

Sex therapy is a type of psychotherapy that addresses mental health issues and/ or emotional concerns affecting a person’s sexual function, drive, and/or desire for intimacy. Techniques focus on emotional, psychological, and somatic interventions to help people work through anxieties, traumas, and self- disconnections that can contribute to sexual concerns.
