About My Clients
I help people with eating disorders achieve their goals by helping them channel their innate resiliency to heal from within. I do my best work with teens and young adults living with eating disorders, depression and anxiety. I am also experienced with working with athletes from all levels. I am a Health At Every Size and body neutrality advocate.
My Background and Approach
My journey as an Eating Disorder Therapist began as a student at Penn State University, where I earned degrees in Nutrition and Psychology. As an amateur marathoner and triathlete, I was acutely aware of the unique relationship between food, body image, sports and mental health. After graduating from Penn State, I began graduate school at Temple University, where I earned an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology. At Temple, I was introduced to the multicultural approach to counseling and gained a better understanding of how intersectionality impacts growth, trauma and mental health. I also had the opportunity to intern with Penn Athletics Mental Health-Performance of University of Pennsylvania and TUWell of Temple University, where I provided student-athletes with counseling services. I utilize aspects of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Feminist Theory, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My services are available to people from all walks of life, and I love and accept you for who you are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy should be available and accessible to people from all walks of life. As a white, cisgender, heterosexual woman, I understand my unearned privileges and my duty to uplift voices from marginalized backgrounds. I am passionate about advocating for causes I believe in, such as racial equity, equality for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and female empowerment. If you'd like to learn more about me or how I can help, I'd be happy to connect!
