Family is an important part of our world. I work with families to help bring lasting change to the system. Addressing the needs of the family is important when working with children to bring lasting change.
Play is the language of children and it is through play that children understand their world and heal. I am trained in Child-Centered Play therapy and use this modality to help children who are experiences challenges to help them gain understanding and tools to thrive.
Our world is full of stress and trauma that is affecting everyone on some level. Anxiety can impact everyone in different ways, create a cycle of challenges that negatively impact our lives, and drain us physically, emotionally, and intellectually. I help children, teens, and adults identify and stop the cycle of anxiety in their own lives.
When working with parents, I see my role as providing a safe place to explore parenting challenges while providing research-based education and tools along with practical action steps parents can take to experience positive changes within their family. I am a certified PCI® Parent Coach and the co-founder of ACT Parenting Community where we provide community and online courses for parents.
My background in human development and early childhood education provides the foundation for my work as a play therapist. Play is the language of children and I help children who are experiencing challenges behaviorally and emotionally whether in response to a physical stressor or trauma or just struggle to express themselves in healthy ways.
