My Background and Approach

As an ever evolving and ever learning clinician, I utilize a variety of modalities in my therapeutic work.I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, a neurobiological approach that targets difficult memories from the past that form problematic patterns contributing to current issues, such as difficulty trusting, perfectionism, self- doubt, anxiety, depression and PTSD. In addition to guiding you through reprocessing the past, I also incorporate humanistic, mindfulness-based, and DBT techniques to help you find peace in the nature of impermanence and approach life in a gentler way. With years of experience in the fields of psychology, human services, and counseling, I truly believe that the most effective therapeutic progress stems from a collaborative, mutually respectful process between two authentic human beings. My purpose is to be your companion and to guide you through your journey to find meaning in suffering and to take steps toward self-actualization

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Being a Queer, first-generation Asian American therapist, I am familiar with the cultural barriers and challenges of identifying as an immigrant, a woman, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community both professionally and personally. During the troubled time in my life, I was fortunate to cross paths with healing professionals that showed me hope. Since then, I have made it my life’s mission to pass on that hope for others. I constantly strive to provide a safe and healing space for all my clients, including those from underserved and underrepresented minorities. The main reason for me to pursue training in EMDR Therapy is to acquire the skills that would enable me to help alleviate some of the suffering in the world around me. Outside of my professional career as a therapist, I also give back to the community by volunteering as a counselor at The LGBTQ+ Center of Greater Long Beach and by supporting nature and wildlife conservation efforts.
