Welcome! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years experience working with children, teens, families, and adults.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Towson, MD
There are many ways that the fields of social work and mental health have contributed to cultural and systemic oppression, historically and to this day. I participated in a series of workshops for white people hosted by Baltimore Racial Justice Action, and know that it is a lifelong journey to unpack and dismantle racism and other forms of oppression. I have participated in and continue to take part in training, conversation, and action related to anti-oppression mental health practices.
I have training and experience working with children, teens, and adults who are dealing with the impact of trauma and symptoms of PTSD. I am trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, and will be completing training in EMDR this coming fall. I also often use play, art, mindfulness, and sand tray as ways to encourage expression, healing, and growth from trauma.
I have training and experience working with children and teens ages 3-17. My training includes play therapy, art therapy-based interventions, and YoKids yoga. I've worked with children and teens and their families to strengthen coping skills, promote healing, improve understanding, and build communication skills. These tools can help with a variety of things like grief, loss, family changes, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
