About My Clients

I primarily work with adults, adolescents, children and families. I invite the individual to talk about true and honest feelings. The act of honesty relinquishes defenses and brings about what I consider to be the ultimate goal of therapy; to reveal what is not conscious and working through it while offering my genuine support for your journey of growth.

My Background and Approach

I earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University and a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles. I received my Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology Los Angeles. I a currently a psychoanalyst in training. I am an active SAG-AFTRA member in the film and television industry. My background in theater arts and comedy can, at times, add light humor in the room when we meet. In addition, my experience with sports has privileged me the opportunity to live and understand the challenges that can be faced as an athlete or participator in sports. I am a former NCAA Division 1 (basketball) athlete, so I understand that being an athlete in any circumstance isn’t always easy, and being aware of our emotions as an athlete, is important. The integration of my personality with the psychoanalytic approach allows for a comfortable, safe, and secure setting during the act of therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The nature of my work as a psychotherapist is to offer a safe and secure environment in which a person can express themselves. Together we can build the relationship as client and therapist in a comfortable space, forming healthier ways to cope with challenges, without limits or judgment. I work from the relational approach in psychodynamic-psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Visualization, relaxation, setting goals, becoming more aware, self-encouragement, focus, control, and confidence are all elements that relate to psychology and are connected to personal growth.
