About My Clients
I guide clients through art directives that address conflicts in their family of origins, abusive relationships, and the connection/pain within their bodies. I aim to assist clients in decreasing negative self-beliefs and self-harm. I work to uplift clients on their own path and support them in their aspirations. I provide grounding and a safe space to talk. I tailor treatment models to each individual client or couple. I address issues in the context of marginalized and oppressed unjust systems
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed mental health counselor associate (# MC 61107761) in the state of Washington. I received a Master’s of the Arts from Antioch University Seattle’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program specializing in Art Therapy in 2020. Prior to that, I received a Bachelor’s of the Arts in Applied Psychology with a minor in Fine Arts at New College of Florida in 2015. I have experience providing art therapy and mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings with a wide range of diagnoses. I believe in taking an integrated approach of the whole person in therapy. I use a collaborative, existential, client centered and mindfulness method toward therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that life is full of beauty, cycles, and mysteries which can be hard to connect with when one is feeling overworked, trapped, or exhausted by the modern-day rat-race. I utilize art therapy with clients in order to gain insights of self, relationships, and experiences that might not otherwise be obtainable through traditional talk therapy alone. I focus on empowering clients through a strength-based approach and existential theory that looks at the “bigger picture.” Trauma and emotions are incredibly complex and require diligent “unpacking” overtime which can be a cathartic yet healing endeavour.
