About My Clients

Are you afraid that your proclivities towards kink or polyamory/ethical non-monogamy are due to trauma? I would almost certainly disagree. Are you afraid that if you see a therapist for your trauma they'll attribute your kinkiness or poly-ness to that trauma? I won't. Ever. I look forward to helping you work through that anxiety, depression, self-harm, or other trauma symptoms without shaming you for who you are!

My Background and Approach

My background is in community mental health. This means that I've treated folks from all walks of life: people experiencing homelessness, wealthy business owners, folks on the autism spectrum, folks on the LGBTQ+ spectrum... You name it. I'm comfortable talking to almost anyone about almost anything. I'm also specifically trained as a trauma therapist; I am working towards certification for EMDR and Internal Family Systems therapy, as well as have training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. All together, this means that I have the skills and desire to help get you back to your baseline, whatever that is, as efficiently as possible.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My biggest values as they relate to therapy are unconditional positive regard and the desire to learn. Unconditional positive regard means that I will always appreciate my clients for who they are. The desire to learn means that when I don't know something-- and there are so very many things I don't know-- I'm willing and eager to learn more about it. Are you a member of a subculture I don't have experience with? I'll take the time to do research so you don't have to be the educator all the time. I am also dedicated to using my privilege to eradicating racism and classism, ending homelessness, and improving health outcomes for women, children, people of color, and trans* folks.

I have experience with the following
  • Atheism
  • Judaism
  • Wicca/Paganism
  • Interfaith
  • Multifaith
