My Background and Approach
Through a cognitive behavioral, solution focused and client centered approach I am able to assist my clients in processing and problem solving the issues at hand in a space that is supportive and positive. Together we will develop a plan: Untangle the issues, refocus your energy, and explore new possibilities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Advocacy has always been at the core of my career and I am proud of the diverse clientele that I have had the pleasure of working with over the years. I have practiced as an agency mental health counselor for five years in which I have helped clients who are struggling with addiction, legal issues, adjustment issues, grief/loss, and past trauma. Served as a school counselor that focused on at-risk students and their families. In addition, I have a background in education with a BA in elementary education from Webster University. Advocacy began for me when serving individuals with physical, developmental, and mental disabilities with a local non-profit agency. In this role I also supported parents who needed guidance through the special education process within Missouri public schools.
