I have firsthand personal experience with ADHD, and recognize the challenges, nuance, and the good parts too. I help clients who have or suspect they have ADHD to process their experience, learn ways to manage symptoms, identify needs and advocate for themselves, express themselves, and create an environment of love and acceptance.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a technique used to help change unhelpful thinking and behavioral patterns. In therapy, I frequently use CBT strategies and often pair them with mindfulness. I have and continue to seek training in the latest CBT and Mindfulness-Based CBT research.
I am an LGBTQ+ friendly and competent counselor with training and experience working extensively with the LGBTQ+ community. You are more than your "letter" in the acronym, and I am here to support you on your journey in life, whether you want to work on issues specifically related to your sexual and/or gender identity or you are just looking for compassionate care from someone who understands the unique challenges you face.
Whether you're questioning your gender identity, encountering frustration or struggles with trying to express yourself for who you truly are, or anywhere in between, I am here for support. I have trained in gender identity issues for both adolescents and adults, and create treatment plans with your specific gender identity needs at the forefront.
I view autism from an affirming lens, so I believe it is a normal variant of human neurology to be embraced and worked with, rather than changed or "fixed." I partner with a colleague who has extensive training in autism diagnosis for those seeking a diagnosis. For those already diagnosed or who suspect you may have autism, I provide autism-informed counseling tailored to helping you achieve your specific goals.
