About My Clients
I have prioritized working with marginalized communities over the past decade as a psychotherapist. People most often come to me for concerns with anxiety, chronic illness, depression, identity, life transitions, perinatal period, and relationships (attachment, family, peer, romantic, sexual). I primarily offer individual therapy for late teens and adults of all ages, with a specialization in working with young adults. My approach is warm, engaging, empowering, and collaborative.
My Background and Approach
I practice relational psychodynamic therapy with the ability to include components of third-wave behavioral approaches (ACT, DBT, mindfulness). I integrate my family/systems and multicultural training into every therapy process. My formal advanced training included therapy with individuals/groups/couples/families, evaluations/assessments, research, teaching, and therapy supervision. My clinical work has been in private practice, university counseling, community mental health, substance use programs, and residential/school settings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view the therapeutic relationship as collaborative and believe that you are the expert of your own life. We can work to establish a non-judgmental relationship of trust and safety. I will use myself to understand, hear, see, feel, and bear witness to your experiences. Together, we can make connections to deepen your understanding of yourself and how you relate to the world. All of my treatment is individualized, relational, depth-oriented, and integrates evidence-based approaches that best fit your unique needs. We can work together to address symptoms and to better understand thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This process can allow you to live in more meaningful ways with long-lasting change.
