About My Clients

I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds hoping to work through personal trauma histories, challenging health concerns, and/or identity integration. I recognize the importance of fostering a strong therapeutic relationship built on respect and understanding. Together we will collaboratively develop a treatment plan that is unique to your specific aims, taking into account your cultural background and identity, as well as your skills and abilities.

My Background and Approach

I strongly believe in the dynamic integration of science-based therapy with the art of client-centered, interpersonal processes. I have a PhD in clinical psychology as well as a separate MA in counseling psychology with emphasis on cultural competence. I have trained and worked in a variety of settings including major medical centers, primary care clinics, community mental health, and refugee services. In addition to my current position in public service, I started a part-time private practice, Elevate Psychology, to offer evidence-based treatments to adults in Washington and Montana. Therapies I offer include, but are not limited to: Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, CBT for Insomnia or Nightmares, Identity Affirming Therapy for LGBTQ+, CBT for Sexual Health, CBT for Depression and Anxiety, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation, and Motivational Interviewing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that on a fundamental level each interaction is an exploration about individual human differences. The unique background experiences of every person influence their thoughts, emotions, and behavior in the interaction. Therefore, in my clinical practice, I approach every therapeutic encounter as a multicultural experience in which I have the opportunity to facilitate change through both the process and function of treatment. I recognize my personal limitations within a therapy relationship and prioritize participation in a consistent process of learning, promoting my own growth as a human and psychologist. I do not take my responsibility in the mental health field lightly, and I am humbled to collaborate with individuals working toward their goals of living a meaningful and valued life.
