About My Clients

I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community, survivors of gender-based violence, and folks that are gender expansive or gender non conforming. I have speciality knowledge in trauma, sexual and reproductive health, anxiety and panic. My ideal client is someone who is struggling with past or present traumas, stressors or anxiety and is open to a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative, encouraging and constructive.

My Background and Approach

I approach therapy with an open heart and mind, using an integrated practice rooted in Trauma-Informed, Anti-Racist, and Reproductive Justice frameworks. I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of all human beings as well as the potential for growth, joy, resilience and expansion. I aim to help my clients tap into the wisdom of their bodies to navigate these oppressive systems and any past or present stressors that may be impacting their quality of life or relationships. I am sex/kink positive and support the Health at Every Size (HAES) model. I draw from several different therapy modalities, including Somatic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Previously, I worked at Planned Parenthood providing crisis intervention, abortion and pregnancy counseling, mental health evaluations for gender affirming surgeries, short term therapeutic support as well as community based referrals and resources.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I do not believe that there is a “one size fits all” model to anything, especially therapeutic treatment. I use my skills and training to gather and share tools that meet clients’ unique needs and take into consideration their individual identities and lived experience. I am practicing from the perspective of a White, thin, Queer, able-bodied, cisgender woman with awareness that the origins of the Social Work profession are inherently racist, harmful and violent. I also recognize the way that systemic racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, fatphobia, mental health stigma and others impact our bodies and nervous systems. All of this informs my practice, and I hope I can help clients feel empowered, regulate their bodies, become more mindful and achieve their goals. I bring a deep sense of warmth, compassion, empathy, humor, and collaboration to every session, and hope that I can provide a healing space in which you can learn, rest and grow.
