About My Clients
My clients are everyday people that need help dealing with extraordinary circumstances. Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, separation, divorce, PTSD, grief/loss, or trauma. My goal is to equip you with the coping skills needed to overcome life's challenges. Having worked as a professional in the fields of social services, education, and mental health counseling, I have helped children, teens, and adults develop life skills to succeed. And I'm here to help you do the same.
My Background and Approach
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Florida. I earned my Master of the Arts in Counseling Psychology with concentrations in both Mental Health Counseling and Guidance Counseling at Trinity International University. I have 10 years of combined clinical and educational experience with adults and children in the community. My goal as your therapist is to aid you in developing a mental health toolkit full of various coping skills geared toward tackling life's challenges. We will work toward recognizing triggers for overwhelming emotions, identifying strategies to overcome those challenges, enhancing your support system, and empowering you to heal, grow stronger, and claim your circumstances instead of allowing them to claim you. I am here to help guide you on your journey toward regaining a sense of well being. I won't tell you how you feel, but will work with you to establish a well defined path toward freedom and a healthier you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Mental health is a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community. As your therapist, I believe that we can work together to help you regain your confidence and peace of mind. We will also strengthen your ability to achieve your mental health goals. With my versatile experience in social service, education, and mental health, I can offer my clients a holistic approach to the counseling process. My integrative approach to counseling has afforded me the successful treatment of : ADHD, child/adolescent issues, trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, grief/loss, and PTSD.
