About My Clients
All are welcome. My clients come from all walks of life. Often times we are stuck in unhealthy relational patterns, overwhelmed by our emotions, and unsure how to free ourselves. It can leave us feeling lost, scared, and lonely. What we need is to feel seen, heard, and accepted. My goal is to provide a safe and healing space to explore your relationships, environments, and yourself. My hope is to empower you to make the changes you desire and achieve your goals.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic orientation is psychodynamic and interpersonal. However, I understand that all clients are unique and will build personalized treatment goals. I take a collaborative, non-judgmental, and strength-based approach towards clients’ goals. I hope to explore how your environments have impacted you and what you can do differently to build a meaningful and fulfilling life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about racial identity development, adoption issues, LGBTQ, social justice, and religious/spirituality issues. Therapy is a vulnerable space to achieve deeper understanding of yourself and others. However, research and interventions have struggled to be inclusive. I believe in providing culturally competent care tailored to you and your identity. I am involved in community outreach and providing educational talks. I specialize in diversity, microaggressions, implicit bias, and conflict management. I have served in a DEI Taskforce and a LGBTQ workgroup focusing on implementing more inclusive policies and training clinicians. I plan to continue those endeavors in my private practice. I believe in building resiliency. My dissertation focused on exploring the virtue of patience in inpatient psychiatric populations. I hope to create patience-building programs providing positive skills in times of suffering.
