I believe that a person can become addicted to almost anything in their life whether it is substances, internet, sex, relationships, gambling, electronics or anything the client identifies as an addiction. I am also from a family of 5 generations of alcoholics/drug addicts. I know what it is like to be the child and sibling of an alcoholic/drug addict. I am a licensed chemical dependency counselor as well as having experience assisting clients with their identified addictions.
I have spent over 10 years learning the Solution Focused Approach and I continue to attend conferences and trainings taught by the experts in this evidence based approach.
The difference between coaching and therapy is that therapy takes someone that is below baseline and brings them up to baseline and then beyond. Coaching takes someone that is at baseline up higher. The same skills I use in therapy can be applied to coaching. I have trained to become a life coach and specialize in sex and relationships; however, I can coach you on any area of your life you need coaching.
I have over 30 years of experience and knowledge of Kink, BDSM, and other sexual activities and desires. I love to answer questions and educate clients about sex in all its aspects. I will always remember to not "yuck your yum" unless it involves children or non-consensual activities, in which case I must follow my ethics and report if the law mandates.
I personally believe that no one person can meet all of our relationship needs. For this reason, I support ethical non-monogamy in all of its forms whether it is solo-polyamory, polyamory, swinging, relationship anarchy or any other definition that my client might use.
I have struggled with being overweight almost my entire life. That said, after years of self-work, I am finally comfortable in the body that I live in, which is not the case for everyone. From this personal experience and providing therapy, coaching, and education to my clients that struggle with body issues, I know that whatever the client's best hopes for seeking my services can be met with understanding and full acceptance as they are right now, in this moment.
