I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults providing individual, group, marital and family therapy. I have expertise in treating individuals with a number of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, anger and aggression, trauma, substance use, life/work stress, marital/family conflict, grief/loss, and adjustment issues.
My Background and Approach
I work with my clients to first build a strong therapeutic relationship, as I believe this is key for any client's progress. My clients find that my warm, genuine, validating, and compassionate style makes them feel at ease. I assist my clients to more deeply explore presenting issues in order to understand my their needs and to develop treatment goals. I believe in the importance of empowering individuals to utilize their existing strengths, skills and resources. I also work with my clients to build any additional tools they need to overcome barriers to goal achievement and to live their best lives. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and strengths-based. I utilize various therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed treatment, and solutions-focused therapy. I believe strongly in an individualized approach with each client, dependent upon their own needs and goals.
