I'm Dr. Danielle, CA-licensed clinical health psychologist, mental health advocate, and chocolate lover!
Clinical Psychologist in Campbell, CA
Uses acceptance, mindfulness, and behavior change strategies to improve mental wellbeing and increase psychological flexibility. ACT uses in-session experiences such as exercises, metaphor, language, and movement to focus on living a valued life instead of getting stuck in needing to “get rid” of suffering and negative experiences. Clients learn to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with inner emotions and, instead, choose to begin accepting challenges and hardships.
Focuses on the here-and-now. In CBT, clients examine how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and impact overall well-being. CBT is an approach which can be applied to many mental health and physical challenges. It is an active and problem-focused approach that directly challenges different thought and behavioral patterns.
Present-focused approach which provides the tools to help clients recognize habitual, unhelpful reactions to difficulty and learn instead to bring an interested, accepting and non-judgmental attitude to all experience, including difficult emotions, thoughts and behavior. This approach is used for most people, especially those who deal with chronic stress. It looks at the stress of living (especially with a chronic illness) and how it affects one's experience.
Whether you're a health seeker or an illness warrior, facing pain or illness is never easy. You could be newly diagnosed or seeking management of a lifelong illness, and everyone around you may be rooting for you without completely understanding your new (and changing) physical reality, and accompanying anxiety, depression and overwhelm. I specialize in health psychology and support individuals struggling to understand, face, and overcome medical conditions and illnesses.
Do you find yourself living while trying to 'get ahead'? Does it leave you feeling drained and tired at the end of the day? Do you feel amplified stress, anxiety, and health-related issues, which consume your waking moments? I've worked with anxiety and related problems for close to a decade, and have learned that it takes a skilled psychologist not only to help guide a client through the challenges of anxiety but also to get to the root of the anxiety.
Having spent 12 months training at VAPAHCS, I've worked with Veterans from all sorts of backgrounds, genders, and presenting concerns. Specifically, I've worked with Veterans in Pain Clinic, Women's Clinic, MOVE TIME, Oncology clinic, and related areas. I'm passionate about helping Veterans and Activity Military work through new diagnoses, acute and chronic medical issues, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to civilian life. It would be an honor to work with you. Please contact me today.
